RTRFM’s annual subscriber drive is coming up soon and we’re all set for the most electrifying Radiothon ever. RTRFM 92.1 needs your support to raise funds essential to keep Perth’s most diverse and adventurous broadcaster on the airwaves for another year.
The Launch
Radiothon kicks off on Friday 19 August with a live outside broadcast of Breakfast with Barr from 78 Records and throughout the week guests include The Brow Horn Orchesta, The Painkilllers and Odette Mercy to name a few!
The Opening Party
The party will continue with the Radiothon Opening Party at The Bakery on Saturday 20 August, 8pm – Late. On the bill is Naik, Community Collab Band, Carl Fox and Drop Macumba! Plus DJ’s from Underground Sound Solution Crew, Cut & Paste Sound System, Ben M, Sibalance and Jade Nobbs. Live performance from the Aerial Silks and from the WA Ballet. We have also included for the first time ever – a special Radiothon Photo Booth!
The Broadcast
For 10 fun filled days RTRFM presenters will encourage listeners to subscribe through innovative and entertaining broadcasting, showcasing what truly live radio can achieve. RTRFM programmes are produced and presented by a team of over 200 RTRFM member volunteers who want to share their passion for music and ideas with you 24hrs a day, seven days a week. We do not receive government funding to produce over 50 weekly shows to an audience of over 350,000 a year. We are an independent and progressive voice in the community committed to inclusion, diversity and access to media for the alternative voices.
The Prizes
Everyone who subscribes during Radiothon will go into the draw to win some massive major prizes! Up for grabs in the prize pool this year is a ‘Super Scooter’ from Ace Scooters, a Home Sound System from Kosmic Sound and every RTRFM feature album from the last 12 months (a 250 CD package), plus much much more over 10 days of fun and frivolity - a chance to win tickets to your favourite events, year long access to Perth’s best venues, hot-air balloon and helicopter rides and mountains of spot prizes.
The Closing Party
Radiothon will end with a great night out at The Rosemount Hotel on Saturday 27 August, 7pm-Late, with Emperors, The Leap Year, smRts, The Autumn Isles, Hang On St Christopher, Minute 36, Goodnight Tiger, Gulls, Louis Inglis, Seven Weapons and DJs Shannon Fox, Jamie MacDonald, Chris Wheeldon and Ryan Sandilands
